Pentair makes it very confusing to buy cartridges. They put several numbers on the end caps. They are all different cartridges with different sizes. On the outside of the filter housing there is a label with part numbers listed across the top. If you follow the column down, there will be a punch out at the bottom of the column for the cartridge needed. All American Cartridges have the industry's only Anti-Microbial "Open Flow Core" that helps prevent algae and bacterial growth. Water will easily flow through the filter core which can increase particle removal, give faster turnover of the water, and lower overall energy usage. These cores are the leader in strength and optimal flow. The Premium Grade Media is Polyester Point Bonded and contains more fibers per square foot than other media, providing greater dirt holding capacity so your pool gets cleaner faster. Because of the uniform weave, dirt loads up evenly using more square footage of the cartridge. The water passes through the media easily, using less pressure and enery usage. The media has a slick feel because the fibers are on the inside to capture the dirt particles there, making the cartridges easily cleaned. When the cartridges are cleaned the fibers on the inside release the dirt and you don't have to work as hard to clean the cartridges. The fibers don't get fuzzy over time extending the usable life of your cartridge. The point bonds add strength to the media, allowing it to hold up to the chemicals in your pool. The Banded and Sharp Pleats maximize flow during operation, helping to reduce the frequency of cleaning and stabilizing the pleats. The sharp pleating makes the cartridges easier to clean. A proprietary Anti-Microbial resin end-cap keeps the filter's rigid structure intact, and provides a knife edge seal, which prevents the growth of bacteria and related pathogens.
